Terms of Service

1. Bookings & Confirmation

A booking is confirmed when you receive a booking confirmation email containing your booking reference number. Bookings made online are subject to driver availability and may be declined in exceptional circumstances, in which case you will be notified promptly and a full refund (if applicable) will be issued.

You are responsible for providing accurate pickup and drop-off addresses, contact details, and any special requirements (e.g., child seat, excess luggage) at the time of booking.

2. Fares & Payment

All fares quoted are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST. The quoted fare is a fixed price and will not increase due to traffic delays or route changes initiated by the driver.

Additional charges may apply for:

• Additional stops requested during the journey not included in the original booking
• Excess waiting beyond the complimentary period (see Section 4)
• Soiling or damage to the vehicle caused by the passenger

Payment may be made by cash to the driver, or by card where available. Corporate accounts are invoiced monthly.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

• More than 2 hours before pickup: Full cancellation, no charge
• 1–2 hours before pickup: 50% of the quoted fare may be charged
• Less than 1 hour before pickup: Full fare may be charged
• No-show: Full fare charged

4. Waiting Time

For airport arrivals, we include 30 minutes of complimentary waiting time from the scheduled landing time. After 30 minutes, a waiting charge of $1/minute may apply.

For all other pickups, we include 10 minutes of complimentary waiting time from the scheduled pickup time. After this, a waiting charge may apply.

5. Passenger Conduct

Passengers must behave in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of the driver and other passengers. We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate a journey without refund if a passenger:

• Is visibly intoxicated or under the influence of substances
• Is abusive, threatening, or aggressive toward the driver
• Engages in behaviour that poses a safety risk

6. Child Restraints

Under Victorian law, children under the age of 7 must travel in an approved child restraint. If you require a child seat, you must request this at the time of booking. We will make every reasonable effort to provide an appropriate seat, however, failure to pre-arrange one remains the responsibility of the passenger.

7. Luggage & Property

Standard luggage is included in your fare. We are not liable for loss of, or damage to, luggage or personal property unless caused by our negligence. Please ensure you collect all belongings at the end of your journey.

For lost items, contact us within 24 hours and we will make reasonable efforts to locate and return them.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Australian consumer law, Booking Melbourne Taxi's liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the fare paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including missed flights, late arrivals, or business losses.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010).

9. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations where such failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road accidents, government restrictions, or natural disasters.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at https://bookingmelbournetaxi.com.au/terms-of-service/. Continued use of our services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
